yayyyyy…its me again…hahaha…i’m really looking forward to this busy semester…but anyways…this blog is just in remembrance for the mission trip that the few of us students that will be participating over the summer, more specifically 9th May till 16th June. It has been my desire to be on a mission trip for a long time. I missed out an opportunity when I was studying in NTU and thankfully God has been graceful to provide this trip.
And so with this in mind…this post will provide information as to what exactly we are doing there…and also…a list of prayer requests for you to keep all of us in prayer.
What we are going to do
Basically, the trip will bring us to mission churches in Southern and Center of Palawan, Philippines. The activities that we will be involved will include:
1) Campus and Hospital visits / DVBS
2) Preaching / Testimony sharing / Special Music Presentations
3) Training Laymen in the Word / Helping newly planted churches / Evangelism and counseling
4) Visiting and ministering to Bob Jones Memorial Bible College
5) Helping in manual work
6) And not forgetting…trekking into the mountains to reach the tribal people who have never heard of the gospel
What you can do
With the activities said, I would love to have you pray for this mission trip. It will definitely be something new for a lot of us. But more than that, I kindly ask for you to pray for each of the team members:
1) That we go there with humble and serving hearts.
2) Pray for wisdom as we share the gospel with many who have not heard, and also strength and courage as we heard into the mountains.
3) Pray for the people that we will be ministering to, that God will work in their hearts and that they would come to know and accept Him as their personal Saviour.
4) Pray for the team to have love for the lost, to prepare ourselves with the knowledge in this 5 months, to exalt one another, and to learn to grow through the various trouble or friction that might arise.
5) Pray for the safety of all of us
6) And lastly, at least one of the team members would need some funding for the trip. As of now, it will costs about USD1600 for the entire trip. To paraphrase Pastor Phoa, “If you are willing to fund us, please first commit to pray for us.” You can always contact me personally via email for the address to send your financial support to.
