Its the first sunday chapel!!! its great to be able to come to worship with many many other christians…and it feels at home even though im far far away from mine…
even before i get to what i’ve heard about the msg…the choir is really really really really good…sounds like those u listen on cds…hahaha…but it was WOW!!! There’s this tenor that looked 20+ that sang a really good solo…and the choir presented a piece called “Be not afraid” by Taylor Davis.
So now comes the sermon…and it had its text taken from 2 Tim 1:1-5…but what the speaker was emphasizing on was the “grace, mercy and peace” that Paul always state before each of his books in 1 Tim, 2 Tim and Titus…
What really hit home was the great great grace of God…think about it…GRACE = God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense. Isn’t that wonderful? it just makes you wonder why doesn’t it?? but that’s grace folks…witholding what we deserve as sinners, which is untempered judgment and chastisement…but giving us what we did not deserve, life, hope, joy, peace…and we really need grace in lots of areas of our lives…practically every step of the way…here’s a few that was mentioned…
Grace allowed us to be saved… (Eph 2:8-9)
Grace sanctifies us… (2 Cor 9:8)
Grace helps us endure in the face of suffering…
and Grace enables us to serve others… (James 4:6)
and a final note on peace was that it was conditional…only for those who was God-dependent….
one of the hymns that we sang at the end of the chapel service….really made me thankful for what God has done…and at the same time how shameful i am to have such little faith at times of trouble…
’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
And to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus says the Lord!”
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
how little faith we are when we are in times of need…God has proven time and again (at least in my life) that He is the Rock…He is faithful…and how we need more grace to trust Him even more…
We were challenged then to commit ourselves to Him…to ask God what He wants us to do in our lives…to be clear…and as I pray that He’ll teach me…I pray that you would pray to know what God wants you to do with your life as well…for he never allows anything to happen without reason to those who love Him… 🙂
