and so the much awaited day has finally dawned…its the start of school!!! I mean there really has been quite abit of adapting to get over…but it is all for the better…
Anyways, this post is done on an impromptu basis…I’m thinking as I’m typing…so it might get a little messy…cause there’s quite abit of stuff to post…and I’ll try to type in proper English…cause I’m in this English class and it’s a good avenue for me to practice grammar…I think? hahaha….so anyways…let’s see…
The weather’s pretty cool…like cool…in the mornings…and it gets real sunny and bright in the afternoon…and the sun doesn’t set till like 8:30pm…it is much drier than Singapore but thank God my lips hasn’t cracked and I guess it has accustomed itself to the weather…
And lessons in BJU is so very much different from what you would experience in any school…
first off…before every lesson…the lecturer / teacher would start off with a prayer…a really good practice to commit each and every lesson to God…both the teachers and the students…to come with the right attitude…
and then…at least for the introductory lessons…all of them would try to provide biblical perspectives as to how we should be approach our lessons and the time spent in class…and it adds a whole new dimension as to why we are here and it really encourages me that the system here really focuses on the “why” study…on top of the “how”…instead of just being results oriented…I’m not saying we can do away the results…but this approach just builds one up from the very fundamentals and hopefully…students here do appreciate the system’s approach…
And as always…chapel is real refreshing…and I cannot tell you how I enjoy the singing…imagine vocal majors sitting beside you and their voices are like “woahhhhhh”….parts come naturally in the congregational singing…and yeap…just a little foretaste of heaven I guess :)…hahaha…
And so…lessons thus far has been really encouraging…texts are a tad too exp…but the good thing here is that previous students do look to sell their texts…and I’ve managed to get 2 books at a slightly cheaper price… 🙂
Tomorrow is a new day and…God has some wonderful things planned out eh?? 🙂
